I wonder if the looming financial crisis will tank the vintage market or if we'll have a situation where wealthier investors (and collectors) will be gobbling up everything as collectors turn to selling their cards to pay the mortgage.
I'm not super tapped into the industry, but I feel like right now there are a lot of guys spending a lot of money, showing off their "mail days," trading and playing a booming market and will wind up in that distressed position. Who knows...
I can relate to much of what you said this week, sans the completist in me to finish out my vintage baseball & football sets. Unfortunately, I typically get the stars toward the end ;)

YES. That was the case the last time. You don't even have to be wealthy to benefit, just not be one of the people thrown into distress as a result.
